What is NexGard Plus?

NexGard Plus is an all-in-one prescription parasite medication for dogs in a delicious beef-flavored chew. This monthly preventive medication gives you the power to protect your dog from fleas and ticks, prevent heartworm disease, and treat and control roundworms and hookworms. Dogs need parasite protection year-round — and these flavored chews make it easy to do. This is a 3-month supply.

NexGard Plus chewables protect dogs by:

  • Killing fleas and ticks for a full month
  • Preventing heartworm disease by eliminating heartworm larvae before they can grow into adults

Afoxolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel 

What are the possible side effects of NexGard Plus?

The most frequently reported adverse reactions of NexGard Plus include diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, and itching. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders. Dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection prior to starting a preventive.
