Animax Ointment is a topical prescription medication for cats and dogs that treats inflammatory skin issues, ear infections, and anal gland infections that are caused or complicated by bacteria or yeast. It contains a combination of anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antibiotic, and anti-itch medications.

Conditions that Animax Ointment treats include:

• Acute and chronic ear infections
• Anal gland infections
• Cysts between the toes (interdigital cysts)
• Skin disorders, including dry or exudative dermatitis, eczema, contact dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis

Animax Ointment should be applied to the affected area as directed by your veterinarian.

Cats and dogs

Nystatin, neomycin sulfate, thiostrepton, triamcinolone acetonide

Excessive thirst and urination, vomiting, and diarrhea (occasionally bloody) have been observed following the use of synthetic corticosteroids in dogs. Cushing’s syndrome has been reported in association with prolonged or repeated steroid therapy in dogs. Temporary hearing loss has been reported in conjunction with treatment of otitis with products containing corticosteroids. However, regression usually occurred following withdrawal of the drug. Hearing loss, with varying degrees of recovery, has been reported with the use of Animax Ointment. If hearing dysfunction is noted during the course of treatment with Animax Ointment, discontinue its use.
