Bravecto for Dogs is a flea and tick medication available as a chewable or topical treatment that provides up to 12 weeks of protection. It starts killing adult fleas and ticks (black-legged tick, American dog tick, and brown dog tick) within hours, treats and prevents flea infestations, and treats and controls tick infestations. It also kills lone star ticks for up to 8 weeks.

Bravecto for Dogs chews and topical solution both kill and prevent flea infestations in dogs for 12 weeks. They also kill and control tick infestations (black-legged tick, American dog tick, and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks, and lone star ticks for up to 8 weeks.

Bravecto for Dogs flavored chews should be given orally with food every 12 weeks.

Bravecto for Dogs topical solution should be given by parting the dog’s hair and applying the product directly to the skin between the shoulder blades once every 12 weeks.

Dogs and puppies 6 months or older, weighing 4.4 lbs or more

Fluralaner

Bravecto Chew: The most common adverse reactions recorded in clinical trials were vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, lethargy, polydipsia, and flatulence. Bravecto is not effective against lone star ticks beyond 8 weeks of dosing.

Bravecto Topical Solution for Dogs: The most common adverse reactions recorded in clinical trials were vomiting, hair loss, diarrhea, lethargy, decreased appetite, and moist dermatitis/rash. Bravecto is not effective against lone star ticks beyond 8 weeks of dosing. For topical use only. Avoid oral ingestion. Use caution in dogs with a history of seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving fluralaner, even in dogs without a history of seizures.

Fluralaner is a member of the isoxazoline class. This class has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving isoxazoline class drugs, even in dogs without a history of seizures. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders. Adverse events have been reported following use of isoxazoline drugs in breeding females. Before use in breeding female dogs, prescribing vets should refer to Post-Approval Experience and Animal Safety sections. Bravecto has not been shown to be effective for 12-weeks duration in puppies less than 6 months of age. Bravecto is not effective against Amblyomma americanum ticks beyond 8 weeks after their first dose.

Warnings 

Keep Bravecto in a secure location out of reach of dogs, cats, and other animals to prevent accidental ingestion or overdose.1

Human Warnings

Bravecto is not for human use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. Keep the product in the original packaging until use, in order to prevent children from getting direct access to the product. Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the product. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after use of the product.1
